from Australia -OZ v South Africa and there is Kevin Rudd, the OZ PM, asking the commentators questions about the teams and being interviewed by them. That is so cool.

is the sporting event of the Christmas holidays in Australia. This year the best South African team in years is playing a three test series and this is the second match of the series. What makes this match so exciting is that the South Africans chased down 414 runs in the second innings of the first test (the second highest run chase in Test cricket history) to beat OZ. That makes this second test even more exciting since OZ fans expect them to fight back here.

The great OZ team is coming back to the pack and were recently beaten in India. I'm hoping the South Africans beat them again. Today is day 2 since Boxing Day in OZ was yesterday for the rest of us.

This is Kevin Rudd's first Boxing Day test as PM but 'everyone' is at this match.

I don't know shit about cricket, except for the fact that the players are very talented.

But I do know baseball.

There are as many lousy players in cricket as they are in baseball. I adore cricket.

Also, is there an "Inside" or "small-ball" aspect of the game?

While living in Dallas, I watched a good bit of cricket. But, I must confess, I never really got it.

I suppose my head is wired for baseball.

But I did wonder about the questions I have asked.

Cricket is a very easy game.

That is, it's sweet if you use the scientific principle of putting brass knuckles inside your boxing glove.
