It's about time. Senator Boxer Calls for Hearings on the Use of Torture
In my email:

Dear Friend:

I recently wrote to Senator John Kerry (D-MA), the incoming Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, asking for a hearing on the impact of the use of torture on America’s standing in the world and expressing my support for a proposal to establish an outside commission with subpoena power to investigate the authorization of torture at the highest levels of the Administration.

The text of my letter can be found by using this link.

Sincerely,

Barbara Boxer
United States Senator

Maybe there's hope yet for bringing the Bush administration of criminals and liars to justice. Let's hope that Senator Kerry responds to this request.

Right up to this month, Dana Perino was still telling an audience at the Brookings Institute that we do not torture and that these interrogations are keeping us safe. No one challenged her, of course. :puke:

/oops

10. Me, too
disgustipated - that they let the republicon torture freaks get away with it so long, and never even wagged a finger at this illegal, immoral, anti-Christian, and pointless brutality.

Republicons and their democrat enablers...ptoooey.

11. Thank you for posting this.
Those in Congress agreed to it, so I doubt that this will come to anything.

12. If they are like the Congressional hearings
we saw during the last 8 years they will accomplish exactly nothing except a lot of finger-wagging, self-righteous tsk-tsk-tsk-ing and mild moral outrage with absolutely NO real-world, real-time consequences, no actual punishment, nor any lasting effect. I think sneering, arrogant Condi and Rove STILL haven't bothered to even respond to some of the Congressional subpoenas they received. Hopefully, under Obama, we might actually begin to see some concrete action and tangible results coming out of Congressional hearings, but frankly I doubt it.
