It's sort of good for those who don't know the nuances.

I'm sure Matthews was heavily edited...still it's kind of interesting...

1. I watched the 5PM airing ... wait for the end ...
Footage of Tweety right after the 2000 election shows
how much he's aged (or maybe not so much?).

2. We've all Aged...beyond normal...

so..my sympathy for Matthews and his praise of Chimp's "masculinity, manliness, Cod Piece and the rest he did to shill for Bush sort of pales with his tepid "anti-War positions" he and his supporters like to tout. But, I found it interesting for "his" perspective for being a Media Whore who always tries to claim "I wasn't for this war in Iraq," but "I respected the John Wayne persona of our "Commander-in-Chief" and "I work for GE and have a home on Cape Cod that Russert gave me." (my interpretation of the behind the scenes quotes from Tweety, through the years.)

Go to "Media Matters" or Google "Chris Matthews" for how many of us on the Left viewed Tweety, through the years for his "forked tongue" pontificating. Pr, perhaps, you are one of the DU'ers still here, posting, who knows how duplicitous Matthews has been through the years.

Still...it's worth a watch if one has nothing else to do and wants to have a "retrospective, heavily filtered" of the HELL many of us feel we've lived through since "STOLEN ELECTION 2000!"

3. "Bohemian Grove" was enough for me years ago ...
I've always seen him as more of a comedian than a
"pundit" (although now that I think about it, that's
not saying much). His recent techtonic shift to
the left only signifies that he's serious about running
for Arlen Specter's seat (and he's put his finger into
the wind about which party will help him win it).

4. i like his show...
but he does hedge a lot. kind of like a person who thinks they may run for office someway and don't want to seem one-sided.

5. Yes..."Hedging" is a good word for what he does...and he does it well..

and, in some ways I might agree that without Tweety we would lose one of those voices who is complicated enough that we can see what we want from him ...unlike others who we know are all RW or LW.

Still...he promoted Bush in ways that seemed appealing to both the right and left instead of reporting the truth as far as he could with having "balance" on his show. But, then, his employer was GE and he might not have had a job, if he bucked them too much. It must be hard for him without Russert (even though some say he and Russert didn't always get along...that might just be PR stuff). Chris got a nice Second home in Nantucket down the street from Russert for something....

Edited on Mon Dec-29-08 08:04 PM by Phred42
What a disgusting hour of propaganda. Written by Rove perhaps?
:puke:

I'm surprised that Tweety wasn't on his knees giving W a blow job at some point

Tweety wants to runs as a Dem yet does this cover-up re-write BS Spin of history.

Fuck Tweety . Except for KO and RM I treat MSNBC like FOX - IGNOORE

:hurts:

7. Typical weasel show from tweety.
Edited on Mon Dec-29-08 08:06 PM by Billy Burnett
Every detail soft pedaled and muddled. Timelines smeared unrecognizable. Strawmen and false choices galore.

Over and over and over, a misrepresentation stated as fact and then a neocon clip to back it up.

An utter waste of time.

In other words, Tweety on a bad night ass kissing GWB and helping restore his "legacy".
