CO town lost 1 million gallons of water??
Most of Milliken was without water service for about 10 hours Sunday.

In all, about 6,000 residents lost water Sunday morning. Authorities said they didn’t know what caused the outage and could not locate a water line break in Milliken, though Mike Woodruff, Milliken public works director, said the town had lost 750,000 to 1 million gallons of water with no idea of where it went.

By Sunday afternoon, water had been restored to the town for all but one subdivision, according to the Milliken Police Department.

While the water was out, the Milliken Fire Department staffed tankers in case of an emergency, though the tankers were not used.

Woodruff said Milliken’s water is safe to drink and that there’s no surface water authorities can locate.

1. Have they privatized the water supply there?
even partially?

Same thing happened with electricity-it was too safe, too steady of a supply. No risk therefore no reward. The Enron's of electric world made it more unstable and then proceeded to use that to make more money.

Worth looking into.

the Army Corp of Engineers here in ATL lost about 20BILLION gallons of water (ok, lost is a bit of a stretch as they simply released it downstream) in the midst of a severe DROUGHT because some idiot overlooked the fact that a $150 part was damaged on a water gauge...

sP

OnEdit : that is 118 DAYS of water usage for ATL...1.9 feet of Lanier (for those of you familiar with Lanier you know it is no 'pond')
