3. No they're not identical
Lieberman isn't in the Democratic Party and Burris is.

That usually affects who is in the Dem caucus.

5. Who is Reid kidding?
Burris is qualified to be a senator. He is a good man. He is everything a Democrat would want to be!

But he was nominated by a numb-nut. And because of that, Reid gets all scared and forgets about the Constitution. And he wants to distance himself from the numb-nut, even though Burris is constitutionally qualified to be senator, and the Senate has no authority to disqualify someone who is constitutionally qualified.

Meanwile, Lieberman thinks Democrats are fair game.

What is clear is reid and co are just looking for cover. Their case may end up in court....and there is decisive precident here, a supreme court case which specifically states that the senate can only disqualify new senators who are not CONSTITUTIONALLY QUALIFIED (ie age, residency, etc). This is a no brainer for a nine grade civics student! So....reid and company make a stink, the case is resolved in favor of Burris, so Reid can say "don't blame me!" Bunch of chicken-xxxxs ruling our party!

7. Nice job of stating the obvious
We'll see if this is so great when the Dems have too few votes to invoke cloture and the Republicans water down the President's HC and Stimulus legislation.
