Does anyone know where George W. Bush is?
You don’t hear much from him anymore. The last image most of us remember is of the president ducking a pair of size 10s that were hurled at him in Baghdad.

We’re still at war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Israel is thrashing the Palestinians in Gaza. And the U.S. economy is about as vibrant as the 0-16 Detroit Lions.

But hardly a peep have we heard from George, the 43rd.

etc, etc..

6. They keep talking about how Obama has "so much on his plate".
Hasn't all that stuff been on bush's plate for months and months? He's the president. Why no talk about what if anything he's been doing?

One president at a time? We have no president right now.

15. exactly
not only are the Powers That Be trying to make us all forget about President Bush but I think the shared shame of all the citizens who gave him that power is part of it too.
Us ALL publicly facing & acknowledging what's happened is just unbearable. Better focus on scrutiny of Obama I guess :eyes:

7. "vowing to confront the issue of poverty in America “with bold action.”
In the Vanity Fair article there was a section about this. They thought they could solve the homeless problem to prove their compassionate conservatism. They had a meeting and Bush/Cheney said it would be no problem. There are only about 15,000 homeless people in the US and Bush/Cheney can take care of it.

They really believed there was just 15,000 people who were homeless. In all of the entire USA. No one in the meeting told them any different.

Strangely fitting final public moment for his presidency. He seems to have pretty much checked out since the election.

I suspect he's in Crawford, trying to find something he has screwed up beyond recognition yet and working on comleting that legacy.

16. Oh yes, as hilarious as the shoe throwing was, it was also sad in a way.
Even tho I laugh out loud every time I see that clip where the shoes fly, I can't help feeling that this is not the way any American should feel about their president. It's a total disgrace to us. HE is a disgrace to us and to the entire world that has suffered because of him.

Every time I think about him I want to throw shoes too....

20. In 19 days, we can be proud of our president once again.
I honestly think that this will be a big part of the coming recovery. The relief at finally being free of bush and the optimism that comes from having a smart, thinking person in charge for the first time in 8 years will go a long way toward re-establishing the confidence in America's future that has been lost under this wayward administration.

19 days!!

22. You know, you are right about that. It will take some time for us to stop cringing
every time we hear the word "President." We were always waiting for the next disaster or idiocy to come out of his mouth.

19 days. I'm going to get up each day and count down...

21. When he gets here in 19 days, you are probably going to be
hearing a lot about him. He is NOT going to have a warm welcome from most of the citizens of Dallas county.

Paraguay is a really nice place to visit/live this time of year.
