Trooper, Union say politics delayed Johnston drug case
Edited on Sun Jan-04-09 02:40 PM by Blue_In_AK
Please ignore this if you don't want to read Palin news. I've been very circumspect about what I've posted since the election since I know so many of you are tired of SP, but I find this ongoing battle between Sarah and the Troopers pretty fascinating.

From the Anchorage Daily News http://www.adn.com/front/story/641997.html

Mat-Su drug investigator and the union representing Alaska State Troopers are alleging political meddling in the Sherry Johnston drug case, including a delay in serving the search warrant because of the November election.

Johnston is the mother of Levi Johnston, who became nationally known in September when Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, announced their daughter, Bristol, was pregnant and he was the father. Palin was running for vice president while Sherry Johnston was under investigation.

Alaska Public Safety Commissioner Joe Masters and troopers director Col. Audie Holloway vigorously dispute that there was anything irregular in how this case was handled.

"We worked very hard to make sure we conducted it just as fairly and as normally as any other investigation," Holloway said.

That's not what Kyle Young, a troopers drug investigator who was involved in the case, wrote in an e-mail last week to all members of the Public Safety Employees Association, the union that represents troopers and other law enforcement officers around the state.

Young wrote that after it became clear who Johnston is, "this case became anything but normal."

"It was not allowed to progress in a normal fashion, the search warrant service WAS delayed because of the pending election and the Mat Su Drug Unit and the case officer were not the ones calling the shots," Young wrote.

1. Hey, I'm your biggest fan. I think this woman and her family are dangerously

hilarious. By dangerous I mean she has a lot of support (and I do NOT understand that one). The hilarious part needs no explanation. These are the most dysfunctional people wasting space and oxygen on the planet.

I just want to say thanks for the updates.

edit: twice no less. For horrible spelling.

2. This story is about corruption in government AND a complicit media who sides with the fascists
who gained control of their industry long ago.

3. Here is a place to follow the court docket on the case
It's been bumped up to AK Superior Court and the court date changed to Monday from Tuesday. Nothing much may happen since it is only allotted like 5 minute per the docket, but as things unfold, it might be an interesting site to watch.

I don't see an an attorney listed yet for Johnston. Maybe after tomorrow?

4. Thanks for the link.
Since it's an arraignment tomorrow, my guess is they'll be talking about attorneys at that time. Depending on her financial situation, one may be appointed for her.
