3. Will he vote to seat Franken?
Would not be surprised if he didn't. I think the Dems made a mistake by bringing him back into the fold.

5. Good question
Who knows? But he may lose his chairmanship if he doesn't, or receive a strongly worded letter.

4. Does It Matter?
This is the first time I've heard Traitor Joe's name since right after the election, and I like to keep it that way. From what I can see Lieberman was a zero factor in the election. He sure didn't help Gramps win his home state nor did it have any affect in Florida (which Gramps was hoping). Let Droopy sit in his party for one...next time he'll be worth mentioning is when he's up for re-election.

6. He matters now---He has a vote to seat Al
And I assume he can help stop a filibuster.

8. His Vote Means Nothing
I can't see him blocking anything or leading a fillibuster or breaking one. He's a party of one now and a lonely one. If he's the "deciding vote" on anything, it's a failure of Reid (again) and the Democrats as they have a clera majority now (51 votes mean a hell of a lot more than 49 plus Joe) and I would hope new Senate rules will limit the number of votes that can be fillibustered.

If Franken's selection is certified by the State and there's no irregularities or any reason for a court to overturn the results, it will be binding, Franken will be seated. I can even see some GOOPers like Snowe and Specter voting to seat Franken. Again, Liberman means nothing...and I actually think he'd vote to uphold the election results and seat Franken...the GOOP has nothing to offer him to vote against this. While I wish Al would be sworn in tomorrow, I can wait a few more days.

Joe Lieberman Campaigns for Norm Coleman

Joe Lieberman has made no secret about his disagreements with the Democratic Party over foreign policy, the last few years in particular. After Lieberman was defeated in the Democratic primary by cable mogul Ned Lamont in 2006 Lieberman has broken from his former party more and more often. Lieberman was of course re-elected to the United States Senate as an independent. Since then he has taken the liberty of endorsing Republicans where he sees fit. I suppose this is to stretch his claims of bi-partisan cooperation.

Of course the most high profile endorsement that Lieberman has made was that of John McCain for President. I will not take the time to dwell on that one however. Susan Collins, the junior Senator from Maine who Lieberman works closely with on the Homeland Security committee in the United States Senate was the first Republican Senate candidate to receive a shot of Joementum. Of course directly following Lieberman’s endorsement and subsequent fundraising efforts on behalf of Collins there was an extreme upswing in fundraising for her Democratic opponent Tom Allen. Allen has seen some traction in the polls, but the race remains close with Collins generally maintaining a lead.

The next Republican Senate candidate for Joe Lieberman to publicly endorse was Senator Norm Coleman of Minnesota. Coleman’s race is a bit more on the radar then the Maine race is so you have to wonder whether Joe did this to get his name in the paper a little more. The race is of course more high profile due to the fact that comedian/author Al Franken is Norm Coleman’s opponent. Franken has made no secret for nearly six years that he would like to defeat Coleman in honor of his friend the late Senator Paul Wellstone.
