Is there any possible way Bush read 91 books in two years?
I can't see how. First of all, no way would he even attempt to do that, especially the books he's supposedly read. This has been a lying pattern with Bush for awhile. When he ran in 2000 he supposedly was reading a biography on Dean Acheson and he was asked about it during a debate and was embarrassed first by not knowing anything about Dean Acheson and second by John McCain who actually knew something about the topic. Then Bush supposedly read the bible every single day, until he was asked one day which passage he read that morning and he couldn't come up with an answer.

But other than that, if the guy has read that many books in the last few years, he was neglecting his job as president. That means he wouldn't have been reading certain reports, or any newspapers or classified briefings and on and on and on. A president shouldn't have time to read that many books. Sure some books yeah, but that many? It's almost not possible, not with his schedule. And definitely impossible when you consider he doesn't like to read and has next to zero intellectual curiousity.

It's easy to call bullshit on this one because it's laughable, but it's just another deceitful instance in a long long line of them from this administration. It's to the point if Bush/Cheney or one of their cronies said the sky was blue you'd have to automatically believe they are lying and it's actually some other color. Nothing that these people say should ever be taken seriously. Nothing ever. It should have always been that way, it certainly would have saved this country and the world plenty of grief.

Look what thinks it says in the Constitution.

Oh, wait, he too obviously didn't read that either.

I don't think he's even read 91 book titles in two years. Perhaps he simply read, 'My Pet Goat' 91 times. Christ they will lie about anything, won't they?

Edited on Mon Jan-05-09 06:20 PM by Wetzelbill
I can't see how somebody could seriously report this as a fact. How gullible would a reporter have to be to take this at Karl Rove and the WH's word? Now if they said something like 20 books, that's at least plausible.

39. reading is one thing. comprehension is something else.
could *bush have picked up 91 books and "read" them. maybe.

reading is only useful if you can read, comprehend, process,(and ideally) absorb some of what you are reading.
