Reuters/Haaretz: U.S. to foil any Arab bid to push Security Council resolution for Gaza cease-fire

This is...an interesting development to say the least.

  Just read that bold bit a second time if you haven't already done so. I don't know whether to call it Bolton Diplomacy or Bush Diplomacy- it's tough to differentiate between such similar shades of fecal-brown.

  Our government is doing everything it can to make sure that the international community is not able to work toward a resolution on this matter. You normally just don't get it delivered as clearly as it is in this particular article.

  I would further implore anyone who has read this snippet to read the whole article (linked at the top of this message). It gives a disgustingly-clear picture of where things are at the moment at the U.N., the U.S.'s role in the situation and the ongoing fallout of the humanitarian crisis, among other things.

But this is ridiculous now. Israel's actions have killed a bunch of civilians. They have every right to after Hamas, but you have killed too many civilians as it is. They need to sort this crap out.

  Potential resolutions aside, the reason why I think this is important enough to post is that it is basically the U.S. single-handedly trying to shut the U.N. down in regards to negotiating a cease-fire. Toss whether or not Israel or Palestine actually agree or disagree on it- the U.S. doesn't even want the chance that the U.N. could be involved.

  Its fascinating that as the Bush Disaster winds down, they become more and more open about how little they care for the machinations of the rest of the entire planet.
