16. Scientology is science fiction

written down by a hack sci fi writer who one day announced to some his fellow writers (Harlan Ellison is a witness) that he was going to create a religion and get rich. And he did.

It's function was and continues to be, basically, to generate money.

14. Every other religion isn't authoritarian and fundamentalist, as Scientology is.

They're not fundamentalist Christians, but they take the words of L. Ron Hubbard as literally as any Bible-thumper.

5. I read Dianetics and was stalked by $cientologists.

I got rid of them by telling them I wanted to join so I could learn to use Dianetics as a weapon.

That made them stop calling.

9. What got me started was them getting my e-mail, mysteriously...

and spamming my inbox. Which then lead to a complaint filed under the Canned-Spam law. They claimed I had attended an event of theirs in New England. I've never been to the NE in my life, so I knew it was BS.

The tossers didn't even have the niceness to spam me in colors I could see either, they did it in bright red and blue. :puke:

$cientology should be opposed on account of poor taste, if for no other reason. At least the other "religions" have good music. When was the last time you heard a great classical piece devoted to L. Ron or Xenu?
