Poll question: Top 10 (or more) Progressive Talkers for 2008 - DU edition
Thom Hartmann made reference this morning on his national show regarding this reader survey (link below).

BEFORE you check it out, vote for your favorite liberal talker on this DU poll. Note that I replaced a name from the survey mentioned with Keith Olbermann, not that I dislike Bill Press - I'm just way more familiar with Keith (plus I voted for him). I also give Ed Schultz a mention, but he is not in my top group anyway.

Here is the link to the survey with their top 10 picks:

Who do you like to listen to/watch the most? My apologies if I left off your favorite, the DU poll only holds 10 choices!

:hi:

1. I wouldn't really consider Olbermann a "talker," you know?
Of all the names here, he's the only one who hasn't had a radio show in 2008.

4. I listen to him, but I'm not actually watching the TV
Does that count? :)

Either way - I really like the way he pulls no punches.

6. Oh I like him too! I just think that the rest of the poor schmucks in your poll...
are going to get owned by Olbermann because he's more familiar to more people.

3. While I like Keith, I had to vote for Hartmann because he EDUCATES his audience
And THAT is what the progressive movement need now more than ever.

He spends the time not only to talk about subjects, he also refers people to even more information on subjects. He's an incredible resource.

We need educators far more than we need talking heads. No offense to Keith and Rachel.

8. Mentioned in my OP that the poll was missing Ed
Tried to match up this poll with the national one mentioned; it will be interesting to see if DU has a different favorite...

Though I do really enjoy Ed on some issues, he is not in my top grouping.

7. Malloy all the way
We can't get him here - San Diego is void of a liberal voice now... We are a giant market but are ignored.

I watch Olbermann almost every day - we love him here on Gilligan's Island. Bill Press is a bore. I mean a gigantic BORE.

I like Schultz... Why? Well, he has the ability to appeal to the more middle of the road people and once they begin thinking about things more liberally, there is a chance to win them over.

I miss Stacy Taylor here - He is accessible to us liberals and he is one of the sharpest wits around.

I have listened to them all but Malloy always nails it on the head - He never pulls his punches. I miss him a lot.

9. Not the best
But you asked who I most like listening to, so that's Momma. :) I don't work on Mondays, but I set the alarm so I can hear her and the mooks, anyway.
