20. Me, too - almost as much as the one with the two British guys who went into the jungle
to find the lion they had raised when it was "little."

That was the all-time tearjerker for me!

6. The last question in that... "What's our excuse?" certainly is the question.....
Over the course of the past 8 years I have found myself being much closer to animals than humans.

7. I already have the tissues out so I decided not to click on the link
I mean, you can't really get something out that you've already got out. I could put them away and then click on your thread again and when you issue the command to get the tissues out I could get them out but what kind of man would that make me? HUH? You talkin' to ME?

PS: I lied. I clicked on the link. I would appreciate it if you would NOT post any more cow-tipping videos in The Lounge.

8. Animals are just the best.
They love and they accept unconditionally. They just want to be loved in return.

Great video, thanks for posting.

9. Animals are evolving faster than people
as reported (honestly) on the Stephen Colbert show, from a prominent science magazine. I certainly believe it. Maybe because they have no religion.

11. Maybe you missed this:
people ARE animals; homo sapiens consider 'other' animals to be 'lower,' about which many of us might disagree.

16. Well, we don't walk on all fours
Everything is evolving, except what isn't.

13. No, there's an actual biological reason
We adapt out environment to suit our needs and when that fails, we just leave to find a more malleable one. We are one of the few species that basically escapes the rigors of divergence and natural selection. For a time there were were well on our way to re-diversifying after whatever dropped the human population to a few thousand, but the horse changed that, and now more modern modes of travel have pretty much guaranteed we'll not be evolving much anytime soon.

10. That is TOTALLY adorable...Does anyone remember another "odd couple" story?
Edited on Wed Jan-07-09 03:50 PM by whathehell
The one about the baby hippo and the 100 year old tortoise?

They started hanging out together after a Tsunami hit Kenya...Those watching them said they were inseparable.

I wondering if they're still buds, so I guess I'll have to goggle it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JiJzqXxgxo

And don't you just love the elderly couple who watched them?

Tara standing vigil for her ailing friend broke my heart.

Thank you for posting this, even though it made me tear up, it did put a very big smile on my face and in my heart.
