I'm listening to his speech about the economy. Despite his centrist/right leanings, at least he sounds coherent!

3. What an unmitigated pleasure
to listen to the president speak without cringing, bracing for the inevitable malapropism.

8. Pretty amazing, isn't it?
There is a huge difference between Obama speaking and Bush...well...I don't know what you call it...let's just say "butchering the English language."

Obama pronounces words properly, and speaks at an even, considerate pace for his listeners. His sentences and paragraphs are properly formed and "fit" with each other.

Obama doesn't make any strange jaw juts to the side, take long pauses unless called for, gasp for air, sigh, roll his eyes, repeatedly lick his lips, or do any of the other things Bush does.

What a refreshing change of pace! I may not dread Presidential speeches now, even if the message is a somber one.

9. I'd like to think a part of an economic turn-around
is HOPE. Yes that may be a little cheesy but I am serious. I think one deep problem is that for the past two years NO ONE has had any hope that Shrubby or his administration will do anything good or right for domestic policy, foriegn policy or the economic problems. If both Wall Street and Business Owners (small to large) have no optimism in the government to make some good policy decisions than there's no way any kind of recovery can happen.

Maybe, just maybe some HOPE in Obama can help make some things better in this country.
