Would-Be Bank Robber Wore Mask While in Line

http://snafu-ed.blogspot.com/2009/01/would-be-bank-robber-wore-mask-while-in.html

Stow, Ohio police have arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery, but one would have to ask how he even managed to rob the bank when he was wearing a ski mask in line. I mean, where was security?

A teller told him he would have to remove the mask while in the bank. However, he did not comply or reply, but rather continued to wait. As I said, where was security?

Once at the front of the line, he demanded cash. The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of money and he placed it in his own plastic bag. Goldshtein ran from the bank and drove away, but was, as I indicated, arrested soon afterward.

1. Also: robber returns within minutes to bank to pay off overdraft
On a roundup of screw-ups by robbers and police:

Returning to scene never a good idea

An armed bank robber was arrested when he returned minutes later to pay off his overdraft. The man ran into the Kredi Bank in the Serbian ski resort Nova Varos wearing a ski mask and brandishing a shotgun and demanded tellers hand over all the cash they had. He got about $30,000 in cash and then ran off. Staff were still recovering from the shock when the same man, this time without ski mask, walked back in to settle his overdraft. Sharp-eyed staff recognized the distinctive sneakers he had been wearing, called police and kept him busy about his overdraft until officers arrived.

2. how big was the bank?
My local, tiny bank put up a new sign in the door sometime between Christmas and New Years:

"In order to more clearly identify you, please remove hats, hoods and sunglasses when you enter the bank."

I've never in my 5 years banking here seen anyone resembling a security officer. Usually just one manager and a few tellers. It's a small, small bank in a little rural village, 45 minutes drive to the nearest city.

3. Most of the banks in Los Angeles have installed the security entry cube at the door
You enter the first door, and have to stand inside, until the green light indicates you can open the next door. So bank robbers wouldn't be able to leave after robbing the bank.
