What if the Matrix Ran on Windows?

I will NOT buy another Windows O/S unless it costs less than 80 dollars.

Ubuntu, FreeBSD, Linux, and Open Sun (Solaris) are all FREE and much more efficient.

1. I was glad to see the Flight of the Conchords ad.
It was nice, while sitting through that, to be reminded of something that's actually funny.

2. I guess it all depends on your POV...
I have no idea who the Conchords are but I am painfully familiar with the Windows O/S's and at least get the storyline of the Matrix..

:)

4. The Architect of the Matrix said a system-wide crash would kill everybody plugged in.
The probability is intolerably high that a system crash would occur, at least on any system running a DOS kernal, but I thought they stopped using that with Win2K and above.

6. LOL! Yeah man, its not worth it.
I've been running Ubuntu 8.10 on a phenom quad core with pretty good built in graphics card, and the "high effects". So its got the rubbery windows and all the prettiness. It blows XP away. I'm skipping Vista, and I 'll give Windows 7 a shot, but I think Microsoft really needs to move beyond treating their OS like their core product when its the same thing every time: An operating system. They are reselling the same product again and again and again with variations. If they would put all their minds and money to making new competitive products instead of exploiting a fading monopoly, they would be a lot better off IMHO.
