Award for most idiotic moment of the day yesterday goes to Coburn..
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 08:15 AM by Virginia Dare
for comparing press coverage of the U.S. Attorney firings to coverage of Anna Nicole Smith :freak: He also whined incessantly about the multitudes of bigger problems that are facing the country, and we're waisting our time on this.

Other observations:

Kennedy and Feinstein seemed genuinely pissed off over the whole thing

Schumer point blank asked Sessions why the White House didn't want on the record testimony and Sessions dodged him

Sessions and Hatch kept suggesting that the White House didn't really mean "final offer", and Leahy kept smacking them down with, "I'm taking the President at his word"

What was up with Grassley, at the end made a point of telling Leahy he wanted the record to show he voted "aye", was that a big FU to the White House?

It really is a beauty to behold watching Leahy run this committee, nobody does it better.

2. I agree
That was a class A bonehead comment. Jaw droppingly stupid.

And I agree with you about my Senator. He's a peach of a chairman.
