Okay, local TV is wonderful....

As in I wonder why I watch...

The Action outlet in our city (every city has an Action News now doesn't it? I think it's in the FCC rules or something), made a big deal about how it was way to cold to stand outside for even a moment. Told everyone everywhere to get off the streets before they did irreparable damage to their health. The Temps are hovering between freezing and fucking freezing.

Okay that's the top story. The Lead, if you will. The very next story was about a woman getting assaulted at a local shopping center. It was in one of the Tonier parts of town and EVERYONE who paid $400k and up for condos and over a million for houses was absolutely shocked that something like that could happen here.

The usual, you know the drill, crimes against white rich people are news, crimes against minorities, not so much. Now crimes committed by minorities? That's a lead story.

Anyway, they are out tonight in the weather they just got done telling everyone to stay out of, stopping people, outside in 0 degree weather, asking how they felt about the crime. I mean really, they were actually stopping people from doing what they just told people to do. And the idiots were willing to sacrifice life and limb just to get on the tube for two or three seconds.

I don't turn on the TV for anything but entertainment and that's usually an old movie. Just think, when digital broadcast is fully implemented you can have five times the number of mindless blather to choose from.
