I'm a refugee from the Kerry camp in the market for a candidate. Haven't picked one out yet but I don't think John and Elizabeth Edwards should be held to Depression-era standards. It's ok with me if they build themselves a house for those 2 little children to play in.

I liked Edwards in 2004, and I like him now, in spite of his penchant for indoor plumbing and electrical wiring :)

I've heard him speak a couple of times and I just do not see a fake bone in the man's body. His words sound like they're coming out of the true part of him when he talks to people.

And Elizabeth is the class act of the American South.

They need to buy at least a half-dozen more.

At this point in the game I only like one thing about John McCain: his decision with his wife Cindy to adopt a Bangladeshi daughteer. That is totally cool. After that, his politics leaves me pretty cold.

On children, I think Elizabeth and John Edwards seem to know what they're doing. I have the feeling that their children are loved and respected.

It's ok with me if they have a big house where that takes place.

With my candidate newly withdrawn from the 08 race, I'm in the market for a new candidate. Where he or she lives isn't a high priority.

As for John and Elizabeth Edwards, my take is that they seem extraordinarily capable of loving kids, of giving kids a wonderful introduction to the world, with a kind of firm and principled guidance for right and wrong, but also one of great affection and tenderness and fun.

What a collosal improvement that kind of tone and temperament would be from the current residents of the White House.

Bill Frist is also buildling a new house in Nashville, said to be architecturally VERY similar to the White House. I wonder why the people slamming the Edwards' house don't turn their rifles toward Frist?
