Whitman leads Newsom by 2 points in CA governor's poll.
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_2010/election_2010_governor_elections/california/election_2010_california_governor_election

In match-ups with two prominent first-term Democratic mayors, Whitman holds a 37% to 34% lead over Gavin Newsom of San Francisco and a 41% to 34% lead over Los Angeles' Anthony Villaraigosa.

Brown has the highest level of support among Democrats in any of the hypothetical match-ups against Whitman. Running against her, Brown earns the backing of 67% of Democrats, Newsom 57% and Villaraigosa 56%. Whitman has the support of more than 70% of GOP voters in every case.

I really hope Newsom wins the Democratic primary.

2. Who knows.
However, it's still very early and one would think that the Democrat would have the built-in advantage.

I'll be rooting for and support Newsom.

3. Jerry Brown, please.
I'm so excited that he's interested in returning to the governorship, he's my pick hands down and is in the lead.

"But former governor Jerry Brown, now the state's attorney general, tops Whitman 40% to 38% in a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of California voters."

4. Rasmussen is a republican pollster
Steve Rasmussen himself, the owner of the poll, is a conservative and a member of the religious right.

Nate Silver has called them out many times........ Rasmussenm had Obama behind in August by one
while everyone else had him 5 or 6 ahead

we all know what that means. Tax cuts for wealthy, trickle down economics....the last 8 years.

Boo on this yucky choice for California. Newsom can turn this around once they get to know this woman.

7. After...
...the extent to which his statements were used in the Proposition 8 ads, Gavin Newsom doesn't have a prayer.

Jerry Brown will be the next governor of California, and I don't even like him. But he will kick Meg Whitman's ass.
