17. We opted to protest in New Orleans instead...

where we still could feel FREE. We had a Jazz Funeral for Democracy. They had a horse drawn wagon with a casket on it, that held a copy of the Constitution and Bill of Rights... after the parade they "buried" them in the Ol' Mississippi.

The parade would past our hotel- we ducked in to check on the DC protests on TV - turned it on JUST in time to see the motorcade speeding past the protestors "Worst. Ever." signs - saw stuff being thrown at the cars- It was awesome...

7 months later was Katrina. I believe the man who pulled the wagon with the casket died shortly afterwards...I hope not, but I am afraid it is true.

I imagined how cool it would be if cheney or bu$h saw it... nice pipe dream anyway

I hope we can heal from all that's been done to us these past 8 years... I feel kind of beaten down.
