Letter to the Editor: Impeachment only way to stop Bush

A soldier's first oath is to defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. This president has lied to the American public to gain its support for an illegal war. He has endorsed torture and he has spied on United States citizens without warrants. By putting his office above the law, Bush has turned our democracy into a dictatorship.

As a former soldier and a mental health provider who has worked with active duty soldiers and veterans alike, I have seen time and time again the results this administration's unconstitutional policies have had on our men and women in uniform. Please remember that when this president attaches signing statements to bills saying he is above the law and that he will torture people if he thinks it's in our national interest, he will be asking our soldiers to do his dirty work for him. And, should they be caught, like those soldiers in Abu Ghraib, Bush will again turn his back on them. It is our duty as citizens to right the balance of power in our government and Bush's actions have proven that the only way to stop him and his administration is through impeachment.

"I swore to defend the Constitution, not the bible."..... Yes , the only way to stop Bush is impeachment...the sooner the better...write your congressman/senator today!!!!!!!!

It's becoming clear, even to Bushco supporters, that this administration is incompetent AND corrupt. Sadly, that's looking on the 'bright side'.
