They are of course both strong Obama supporters - they make the (valid) claim that Obama has the power to do big things. The concern is that he may not do those big things so as to not shake things up too much. I hope that the pres and first lady are watching this show...NOW! Talking about the stimulus package and how they need to get the big corporate tax cuts minimized, and focus on jobs/which will take spending.

So refreshing to see people who make sense!

Edited to add another key point - Frank was psyched for Obama because he thought he would bring all sorts of new people to Washington. he is very disappointed that so many Clinton retreads, as he called them, are in there. Wonders why Obama went in that direction.

3. Thanks for the headsup, NRaleighLiberal. I was watching Rachel and missed it.
Rachel had Peter DeFazio on. He's the chair of the House Infrastructure Committee (or something like that). Congressman DeFazio just burned Larry Summers a new asshole for his stupid, short-sighted, infrastructure-deficient stimulus recommendations to Obama. This, of course, is also a de facto slap at Obama for picking, as DeFazio said " one of the guys who got us into this mess" to try to get us out of it.

DeFazio admitted that he would probably be getting called to the carpet for saying this but he feels it's too important to just sit back and take a bad bill being rammed through.

4. Why did Obama use so many Clinton 'retreads'? Because he's smart
Both Carter and Clinton crippled themselves in the first couple of years of their administrations because they brought in so many people from outside DC. Obama has hit the ground running with a lot of people who know how to get things done in DC.
