BORK on CSPAN sez he was "begged" to stay at DOJ to fire Archibald COX
Edited on Sun Jan-25-09 01:17 PM by UTUSN
He was interviewed (it's over, glad I saw the COX thing at the tail-end) by his fellow DWEEB, the prez of the Federalist Society. Both of them had mental lapses during the lovefest and looked like they belonged on 3rd Rock from the Sun.

So he sez that when Elliot RICHARDSON and RUCKELSHAUS both resigned refusing to follow Tricky's order to fire COX, BORK was the "third and LAST in line" after them, and that both of them BEGGED him to stay at DOJ "to provide CONTINUITY" to the department!1

Well, first he said he didn't much want to talk about it because he's writing a whole book about it and that it's SO complex that it can't be summarized in "three sentences"!1 Whoops, he just DID!1

Then he said he NEVER saw Tricky NOT be "intelligent, thoughtful, and pleasant," that Tricky not only knew world politics but local politics down to the bottom, would cite this or that court Jurisdiction for advisors to research when they gave him advice, that he gave BORK a lecture on law that was "only slightly less" than what BORK had years of delivering as a professor, AND he sed that he has lost hope that the Wingnut revolution from RAYGUN's election would be permanent, that when RAYGUN won and Libs like Frank CHURCH were booted he thought it was forever!1 (Lesson for US, too!1)

Just in the short part of the 3 hours I saw, the dweeb interviewer asked a question, BORK said he lost his train of thought, what WAS the question? and the interviewer said HE had forgotten the question, TOO!1

He also said that he indicted AGNEW for taking bribes while Veep from construction contractors back when he was governor that continued "for services rendered" after he was Veep, that AGNEW's defense argument was that since the prez canNOT be indicted until after leaving office the Veep can't either.

Anyway, what is it with McCLEAN, VA, where BORK and the CIA are neighbors of Hot-Wheels-CHEENEE?1
