We in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas are in for it this evening. Ice storm warnings starting at noon today through Tuesday evening. Looks like our area is in for the worst of it.
I hope we don't lose power, because I need to keep my kitty and birdies warm.
One of my fonder memories is the first one I encountered (1st Pittsburgh winter), I went out to my car, found that it was encrusted in 1 inch of ice, and I just said to myself "what the fuck am I supposed to do about this?"
We're in NE Oklahoma, and we're keeping a close eye on the weather too. Right now, it looks like we might miss the worst of it. I hope so because we've had two really bad ice storms with muliple-day power outages over the past couple of years.
We have had light rain and sleet, but it really hasn't started yet. I'm glad I got off work early. I have my needful things stocked up and am sitting here hoping we don't lose electricity.
A lot of sleet and a little bit of ice here, but I think the worst is over. It's only 19 degrees outside, which has kept a lot of the freezing rain away.
