I was getting so obsessed with the repukes that I was only writing to them. Then I got the bright idea :sarcasm: to write directly to our new and great President of the United States and ask him directly, what the fuck can we do to support you and shame the repukes for trying to sabotage you right out of the gates.

If I get anything back I will post it here.

Wow... I am so fucking pissed at the repukes I can hardly see or type straight...

Thank God for DU. Otherwise, I am sure I would have suffered a stroke or aneurism by now.

The debate in the House today was a disgrace, pure and simple.

1. Our side made concessions for NOTHING, and should have known it...
Now the Senate will make concessions when they don't have to ~ Dems will obviously NEVER learn.

3. He didn't make concession for nothing. Just watch, he's setting them up for future bills that they
won't have as much political ammo to fight.

Remember, this stimulus package isn't the only federal spending that will happen over the next 18 months.

There's still healthcare reform and the multi-trillion dollar federal budget.

6. Why would they be more inclined to go along on those??
imo we should write the bills they way we want and they either vote with us or not ~ this way we'll get a bunch of bad bills.

7. Because by then the GOP will be seen by most of America as a bunch of obstructionists.
With more of the American people on the side of the POTUS and Democrats in Congress, the GOP will have little power to do much of anything.

They can ram things though the House already, so Obama doesn't even need House GOP votes. He just wants to be seen as TRYING to bring them in. Because they are fighting him, it's to their detriment in the eyes of the US public, not his.

That hundreds of millions of family planning that was yanked? Expect it to make a reappearance in the healthcare reform act/bill later this year.

8. Hope you're right, but as long as we're making bad concessions...
...we're still acting as if they are in control.

11. They took out the money for the renovation of the DC mall (jobs) & family planning...
...and I'm not sure how much they added in tax relief to placate them. All to get not one single vote.

12. I already said that the family planning will most likely be put in the healthcare reform.
Also, why couldn't the DC mall renovation be part of the federal budget later this summer?

Everything that was "yanked" will be put back into future bills later this year.

2. That's why I love it here.
There are actually people who give a shit. It's not so easy to find people like that in my little 3D world. I've been so angry I'm ready to pass out at times. Reading that others feel the same, and also the humor here has helped calm me down enough that I'm not a danger to anyone.
