Al Gore's Visit to the Hill (TOON)

Al Gore's visit to Capitol Hill this week left me with the overwhelming impression of watching my social studies teacher dealing with pimply faced know-it-alls in the back of the study hall. Sadly, the Washington "know-it-alls" were ostrich-headed GOP climate change-deniers like Sen. James Inhofe and Rep. Joe Barton.

It was amazing to hear the "tales of a winter colder than the great winter of '29" get trotted out as scientific confirmation to the chicanery of Gore and Company.

Mr. Gore and his ilk have a long road ahead, but hopefully more ears in Washington have started listening...even a little.

on that!) trying to push that damned rock up the hill — but unlike the myth of Sisyphus, Al Gore will finally succeed!

9. There was a good story posted yesterday about how the Repubs

don't even really believe what they say. They just argue against global warming to oppose liberals. Even the energy companies are buying in, but the Repub decision makers cannot. It reminds me of when H. Clinton did that health care thing back in '93 (?). The Repubs, I think it was Gingrich, chose to oppose the plan for no other reason than they didn't want Bill Clinton to have the political success.
