15,000 apply for jobs at Battle Creek-area casino
The new FireKeepers Casino opening later this year near Battle Creek is looking for a few good men and women to work there — 1,500 to be exact.
As of Wednesday, 10 times that feel they fit the bill.

Casino spokeswoman Michelle Rahl tells The Daily Reporter of Coldwater 15,000 have applied.

The casino in Calhoun County is owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians.

1. A casino is the reason our local economy is thriving
They built the casino and hired 5,000 people. They provide good wages and benefits to a town that was used to paying minimum wages for workers and are now forced to match the pay of the casino or go without help. Our local newspaper has a lot of jobs listed, which is unusual in this day and time.
