Urgent Alert From Don Siegelman
Dear Supporter,

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Chairman John Conyers have stood up against Karl Rove. Voice your support now and ask them to keep up the fight!
I need your help. Two important statements have been made this week:

--- Speaker Nancy Pelosi appeared on Fox News Sunday and said, "I think you look at each item and see what is a violation of the law ...we cannot let the politicizing of, for example, the Justice Department to go unreviewed...I want to see the truth come forth."

--- Chairman John Conyers, Monday subpoenaed Karl Rove for the second time to testify before the House Judiciary Committee saying: "I have said many times that I will carry this investigation forward to its conclusion...Change has come to Washington, and I hope Karl Rove is ready for it. After two years of stonewalling, it's time for him to talk."

Now we must also talk and act if we want to assure justice prevails!

Please call, fax, and/or email House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Chairman John Conyers, Jr. thanking them for standing up to Karl Rove and seeking the truth about Rove's involvement in the Siegelman prosecution and in the firing of the U.S. Attorneys who would not file politically motivated charges.

Speaker of the House, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi

Office: (202) 225-4965
Fax: (202) 225-4188
Email: sf.nancy@mail.house.gov

House Judiciary Committee Chairman, Congressman John Conyers, Jr.

Office: (202)-225-5126
Fax: (202) 225-0072
Email: john.conyers@mail.house.gov

Thank you so much for your continued help and support!

Sincerely,

Don Siegelman
Governor of Alabama 1999-2003

3. DONE.
I sent the following to them both.

Please stop this arrogance against the law by Karl Rove.
If you do not arrest him for this criminal act you are making an example for all young people in this nation
that it is OK to break the law if you are powerful.
He is a big part of the reason our precious nation is suffering.

You CAN do something about it.

BTW - I took the chance since I was mad anyway, today, to call a few republi-CONS in Washington A) to give them hell and B) to double-check whether the TOLL FREE numbers are still good. Good thing, too, 'cause one of them no longer was.

:hi:

BTW - if I may be so crass, please by all means visit www.acidicband.com !

Hey, if they were just a group of self-absorbed teenage wankers doing this vanity band thing in the garage on an occasional weekend, that would be one thing and I wouldn't care. But they're not. They're serious as hell, they've all been into music and guitar/drum playing since they've been little, their songs are really catchy and memorable and very well-crafted, and my son sings like Nobody's Business! Maybe one day...

Then perhaps the ol' rocker-mama will cool her heels a little (and put the phone down). Or maybe not. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

32. that's great
that you are so involved in helping your son fulfill his dream.

Your Son is lucky to have such a caring Mother.

Years ago we were supportive of our daughter. She ended up with a master in opera performance from Temple University. She has performed in California, Kentucky, Michigan, Philadelphia,New York at Carnegie Hall,Tokyo and Osaka, Oregon and Nashville. She still credits us for helping her achieve her dream.

It's all worth it.

39. calimary- you rock almost as hard as your sons band! great to see they're going strong!!!
not to shit on their (or your) parade- but if you haven't yet, i suggest you read "The Problem Of Music" by Steve Albini. Steve Albini is an independent and corporate rock record producer most widely known for having produced Nirvana's "In Utero".

It's a heartbreaking read but- if you and the boys can grok the hazards "the industry" poses with eyes wide open- you all can do great things! Cheers!

ps- i wish i had a mom like you when i was their age...

13. ''Unreviewed"?
"Investigated" is what we need.
Followed closely by "Indicted" and "Tried,"
then, "Convicted," followed by "Sentenced,"
then "Imprisoned" and, who knows,
but turn on the Leavenworth webcam.

14. Here's what I wrote:
As a citizen of Alabama I just want to tell you that I hope that you will continue to pursue the investigation of Karl Rove's role in the slapshot conviction of our former governor, Don Siegelman. He was railroaded.

Believe it or not there are some progressives that live in Alabama and we feel our voice is never heard.

Thank you,

Karen Harper

38. Thought we lost Alabama when Neil Young wrote that damn song,
and Lynyrd Skynyrd replied with a catchier one.

Now if you could just get rid of Sen. Shelby. His anti-union, anti-auto company stance really irks me.

23. he'll be held in contempt of Congress
not that he cares, he thinks he has executive privilege. Apparently Bush tried to cover his proverbial arse by enacting some sort of sweeping executive privilege ridiculosity in his last days in office. Just the fact that Bush did so makes it clear to me that he has a lot to hide.

I don't believe Rove will be able to hide under the cover of executive privilege. I believe he'll end up being arrested when he is in contempt of Congress. Just because the Bush administration was characterized by ignoring the law doesn't mean the new administration will follow suit. It may take some time, but Rove will end up where he should be, in PRISON. I just wish he would have to go to a state prison instead of a federal one.

And told their staff people that letting that sumbitch get away with telling the new admin to go fuck itself was simply unacceptable. Not in those words of course.
