HUGE jump in poor Michigan unemployment numbers

Unemployment numbers were up across West Michigan from November to December of 2008. Most notably, though, were the increases over the past year and, in particular, those in Muskegon. The Muskegon-Norton Shores unemployment numbers were up 64.5 percent, leaving Muskegon with an unemployment rate of 11.5 percent. Muskegon, along with Flint and Monroe, recorded the largest unemployment rate increase since December 2007.

In Grand Rapids, there was a 46.1 percent increase in unemployment from December 2007 to December 2008. Holland, Grand Haven and Kalamazoo all saw increases of more than 50 percent over the year.

3. In Michigan there
are about 46,000 homes up for sale in foreclosure 46,000 that is big. You can now buy a three level home en-crusted in Oak and stained and beveled glass for about 40-50 thousand. Homes that not a very long time ago were worth in the mid 300,000. Another train wreck in our country the value of the architecture and quality. May any and all gods above help all the people because we are fucked-big time. But just keep giving money to the fucks who lie, cheat and steal. I know President Obama is fixing it but I just have a ton of leftover madness.

7. Great...
Even the westside of Michigan's LP is getting hit hard now.

On the bright side, at least some parts of the UP may never have found out that the Great Depression of the 1930s finally came to an end.
