URGENT: Jane Fonda to Protest Iraq War at Navy Memorial Sat. (Help D.C. Chapter Counter-Protest!)
Wednesday, January 24, 2007

THIS IS AN URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT:

The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic is canceling our planned gathering at Upper Senate Park scheduled for 10 a.m. this Saturday, January 27, and will instead focus our efforts on the appearance at the Navy Memorial that morning by Jane Fonda for a so-called antiwar rally there.

We will gather at 9 a.m. and stay through Fonda's scheduled appearance at 10 a.m.

Please bring American and service flags, signs bearing messages of support for our troops, as well as signs denouncing Fonda and her band of traitors.

The following is the announcement by the sponsor of Saturday's larger 'antiwar' rally on the Mall about the Navy Memorial event:

10am: Women Say Pull Out! Women's Convergence for DC Mobilization

Join Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon, Congresswomen Maxine Waters and Lynn Woolsey, Rhea Perlman, Eve Ensler, Mimi Kennedy, Q'orianka Kilcher, the Co-founders of CODEPINK and many other amazing women. Other co-sponsors include: National Organization for Women, V-Day, WAND, Feminist Majority, Feminist Peace Network and WATER. Don't forget your PINK!

Where: Navy Memorial, 7th and Pennsylvania NW
When: Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 10am We will rally at 10am then meet up with the UFPJ rally and march!

The enemies of this nation are feeling so emboldened that they are confident enough to bring Jane Fonda to a MEMORIAL for the United States Navy. During the Vietnam war Fonda traveled to North Vietnam and posed with our enemy on an anti-aircraft battery used to shoot down our Navy pilots.

Please join us in protecting the honor and memory of the sailors and pilots of the U.S. Navy from Jane Fonda and those who support the enemy in this war.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

We will be downtown all day as we also plan to counter-protest the 'antiwar' march after their rally on the Mall

Dress warm, it's going to be cold but dry.

Metro stations close to the Navy Memorial include Archives/Navy Memorial on the Green and Yellow lines, Gallery Place on the Red, Green and Yellow lines and Federal Triangle on the Orange and Blue lines. Street parking and garage parking is available.

17. So a man named Kristinn's going to lead this DC anti ant war protest.
Kristinn's parents named him funny. Couldn't they call him Christopher? Anyway he's the leader of that motley crew in the DC chapter of Frei Republik.

Honor the soldiers with their protest?

What about the dishonor George W bush placed upon those soldiers by sending them to war based on lies and some of them dying? These right wing nuts further George W bush's dishonor by supporting the chimpenfuhrer.

20. They don't yet understand the lie they are a part of.
But, when they do become aware, they are going to be furious.

2. ROFL
I love how they have to remind their members to not be racist! Geez...

My prediction is that about 6 people will show up for their "protest." It will be a laughable and pathetic show, to say the least.

3. This Is One I'll Have To Look The Other Way On.
Though I personally have no anger towards her, I'm objective enough to understand why many people still do, freepers or not. I disagree with their protests in just about every case I've seen here I believe, but this one I think I'll just look the other way on. No matter how long ago it was or how she's apologized since, I can still understand why some wouldn't take kindly to her being at the war rally.

Not saying I support them in spirit, just saying I don't find reason to be outraged at them for it either. You have to understand, she pissed a lottttttt of people off with that.

22. I agree, that was over 35 years ago. They're all quick to
forgive themselves when they make a mistake, but don't EVER forgive a Dem. I recently got mail from a freeper about Ted Kennedy at Chappaquidick. What the heck?? You can be sure she got a letter back from me about that.

I'm sorry, but I just think its ridiculous that *they're still mad at her* from way back then. Jesus said what about forgiveness? Why can they cram these things down other peoples' throats, but don't apply it to themselves?

6. They should GET OVER IT
Don't these idiots have anything better to do?

Scalia runs around bitching that Democrats should get over the 2000 election theft, which happened just 6 years ago. But these jerks are still harping about something that happened more than 35 years ago.

They need to get a life, or enlist in the Iraq war, or something.
Sheesh.

12. That "so-called" rally is going to out-number your dumbasses by 100,000 to 1.
Wonder if they'll gather in front of the J Edna Hoover building like they did in 2005? Wonder if they'll have the pork-belly wrestler wannabe with the American flag painted on his face?

27. Just becuase she
has the right, doesn't mean she should. Her presense is a distraction. It becomes all about Jane and her shit for brains moment 30+ years ago. What value does she bring by her presense?

This is not about her right to be there. Maybe instead she could make an anonymous donation to an anti-war group. That would do more good than having the distractions that she will cause.

We can piss the Freepers off just fine without her.

26. Probably the reason why the freepturds moved their protest:
maybe the military recruitment offices were informed of the location of their "pro-war" protest?

So, they're going to go threaten an older, lighter-weight woman, instead of some soldiers who have faced stuff which would have turned the freepturds' trousers brown at the sound of a kid cracking his knuckles?

From FreakPubic:

Those who support our troops and their victory in Iraq and the other fronts in the Global War on Terror need to
get off their butts. If the left wins--we all lose.

Hey, hey, hey, they reminded you freaks there is to be no violence.

I cannot believe Jane Fonda would dare show her face in public again, criticizing our U.S. Military. It's rather unbelievable someone hasn't beaten her with a 2x4 for her actions.

These freaks parrot everything their stupid leader and his minions say.

This has been allowed to go on for years. Our enemies feel emboldened.

At least these losers learned a new word.
