1. ive seen random road searches in miami and in charlotte. it seems very wrong.

very unamerican and very police-state.

they divert cars and/or set up roadblocks in the guise of checking licenses or insurance.

And remember, if a cop ever tries to "buddy up" with you, they are only trying to get information out of you. Say nothing to police at all times, it's your right.

My exwife, a cop, gave me a tee shirt that said "you have the right to remain silent, anything you say will be misquoted and used against you." Very true.

And the amazing thing is the prof is from Regent University, Pat Robertson's diploma mill for Republic Party lawyers.

You'd think he'd be telling everyone that the police are your friends, and they would never make a mistake, so answer every question truthfully and nothing bad will ever happen to you.

Right up to the day they strap you into the chair.

I'm not an attorney. Nor do I pretend to know the law....

But if I am driving down the road.. minding my own business.. I have not had ANYTHING to drink & I'm obeying all the laws..

what is the 'probable cause' for the police to stop me? Do I have to "show my papers? I thought Police in the US needed Probable Cause to Detain Suspects?
