Sen Dodd Senate Banking Com Head Shamed into leaving Countrywide Mortgage

I guess this is progress.

Dodd has acknowledged receiving mortgages in 2003 through a VIP program at Countrywide, which was sold to Bank of America Corp. earlier this year and has been the focus of allegations that it gave favorable loan terms to lawmakers.

Countrywide Gave Special Attention To Lawmakers

:snip:

The Portfolio investigation alleges that favorable loans also were extended to Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.); President Bush's former housing secretary, Alphonso Jackson; former United Nations ambassador Richard Holbrooke; and former Health and Human Services secretary Donna E. Shalala.

2. I think
There are problems like this on "both" sides of isle, and we need to clean it up, on both sides! Democrats can't be the party of "change" if we don't "change" the things that are wrong on our side also. The democrats need to pass tough legislation to prevent this kind of thing, money and favors from big corporations going into their pockets! If we can show the american people that we mean business, and we will clean up the way things work in D.C. no matter what party is involved, it will go a long way in making sure the democrats control this country for years to come.

who were given special discounts.

Interesting that it's only an issue now that we have a Democratic President. :eyes:

Dodd never asked for a special rate, nor was he necessarily aware that he had one.

The Portfolio investigation alleges that favorable loans also were extended to Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.); President Bush's former housing secretary, Alphonso Jackson; former United Nations ambassador Richard Holbrooke; and former Health and Human Services secretary Donna E. Shalala.

Seems you left a few people out of your OP?

7. Dodd is bought and paid for...
and now that interest rates are lower, we really shouldnt wonder why he is refinancing. I doubt this would be occurring if interest rates were higher.

Dodd is corrupt, and should not be heading the banking committee.
