Did Karl Rove call for a "permanent Republican majority"?

Many liberal sites and blogs claim he said it, but I have been unable to find any evidence that Rove did say it. The closest I found was an MSNBC transcript with right-wing lackey Tim Russert. Anyone have a better link than the following, perhaps to an actual quote by Rove in which he used the phrase?

MR. RUSSERT: You have said that you--your ultimate goal is a permanent Republican majority. What does that mean?

MR. ROVE: Well, first of all, there are no permanent majorities in American politics. They last for about 20 or 30 or 40 or, in the case of the Roosevelt coalition, 50 or 60 years and then they disappear. But would I like to see the Republican Party be the dominant party for whatever time history gives it the chance to be? You bet.

Whether Rove himself ever said those words in public I do not know, his bosses certainly have though.

any political operative who calls for this has no clue what an American Democracy is all about. These guys are Nazis, plain and simple.

It might be understandable if the policies of the party were so popular that they got voted in again and again becasuse the people believe in the program. (i.e., the Democrats with the New Deal)The Repoublicans have policies only a tiny minority believe in (eternal war, hate the gays, hate minorities, no help for the lower classes, lavish entitlements to the already rich.)

What these arrogant priggish deluded people want can't be gotten from a fair vote of the American People. They can only cheat and lie to get and stay in office.
Karl Rove, who did everything her could to establish a dictatorship in this country, is UnAmerican and Evil.

He has learned to be patient: "I now understand you can't just explain to the idiots how to do it and to see it your way, because they're too foolish to see it."

Norquist knows he will survive politically, as sure as he outlived Reagan and Gingrich. He will always be relevant, he said, because he embodies the issue that unifies Republicans: lower taxes.
