The Lou Dobbs program agenda, applicable nightly since 1/20/2009

1. Open program
2. Complain that President Obama has no plan to make everything perfect forever, starting within 30 days
3. Blame Obama for failing to be sufficiently bipartisan, i.e., caving in to the will of the Congressional minority
4. Underscore that Lou is an Independent, despite all evidence to the contrary
5. Complain that some small fraction of illegal immigrants might benefit from something in the Obama plan
6. Blame illegal immigrants for everything else that he can't pin on Obama
7. Remind the viewer that Obama just isn't being bipartisan enough
8. Close with righteously indignant rant about Obama's failure to achieve in two weeks everything that his 43 predecessors couldn't

Ever since he started to criticize President Obama.. I think he has been off of his meds for some time now.

I noticed that he was filling up every nightly broadcast with tirades against illegal immigrants and the irreparable harm that they were doing to the country.

Bush was shitting all over the country and the Constitution, and Lou was outraged because some guy is willing to pick strawberries for $2.00 per day.


I'm willing to believe that Lou isn't actually racist, but I've never heard one of his anti-immigrant diatribes that couldn't have been credibly voiced verbatim by any of the Rightmost white supremacist.

We have to borrow money to try to get a stimulus for our economy
and now our President is willing to help other countries.

I'm simply not sufficiently familiar with the myriad trade agreements to make a determination one way or the other. It sure sounds like a shitty deal for US workers, but what exactly constitutes an unacceptable subsidy or protectionism in this context?

I recall the flap when Airbus got the US Airforce contract not long ago; it was reported that the relevant trade agreement forbids the US from holding the foreign business to a different standard than it would hold an American firm.

Does the same apply in this case?

Why he hasn't joined Faux "News" yet is pretty surprising, he would fit in so well, I guess Faux just doesn't have enough room for him yet.

And the whole thing about him being a self proclaimed "proud independent" is not true, the guy is a as right wing conservative repuke as it gets. No surprise there either because his show is based off telling complete bullshit on a nightly basis.

we watched him too (it's been a long time)and had to tune out ever since he started in about "illegal aliens" and got his teeth replaced or whatever happened to his mouth and the way he speaks.

At least Limbaugh is honest about what he stands for. First Dobbs said he was a "lifelong Republican", and now he says he's a "populist".

The reality is Dobbs is a shameless demagogue and an asshole who peddles xenophobia.

Yesterday he was on his program complaining that the new provision for child health care would allow some children of illegal immigrants to take advantage of the money. I was horrified by him. How can Dobbs, with a straight face, say that he doesn't want children - no matter where the come from - to have health care? Either he's crazy, or he's so cold-hearted that he can't see that he's saying that our country shouldn't protect children.

Basically he's saying "let the kids suffer and/or die because their parents snuck into the country."

He's a class act, that's for sure.

Remind the viewers, several times throughout the show, that he is one of the lone voices speaking out for the middle class.

Good thing he's on our side...

I used to really enjoy his show. I was a loyal watcher every single night at the gym. But his show changed drastically a little over a year ago, when he suddenly started railing about the Liberal Media. Huh??? Now he's so sanctimonious that he's become unwatchable. I fully expect his head to explode at any moment.

Okay, I admit that I'd tune in to see that.
