If they had paid the TARP money out to individuals - they would have

saved it or spent it. So there would have been an economic boost from the spenders AND the banks would have gotten recapitalized from the savers.

I'd like my share of the the $350,000,000,000 that's left to be direct deposited please...

1. Yes, wasn't the amount per American citizen something like $30,000 each?

Should have just given it to the people to spend however they needed to.
Either way, it would have ended up back in the economy anyway.
We'd all been better for it.

3. If I had an extra $3000 right now, I'd bank about half

and spend half on big-ticket consumer items, like a dishwasher and new cookstove. Just as you said, presto! Capital for my bank and consumer spending.

However, because I am patriotic and I love my country,I'd rather see that $3000 go toward infrastructure.

But if it's between me and the CEOs, I say give the money to the little guy.

5. Not talking about replacement for the Stimulus bill - just talking about

the balance of the TARP - cause we can all see how big a failure it was handing it over to the banks
