What made me?

Murky memories of lives lived?
Mistakes made?
Miles of madness traveled in my day?
Minefields plenty along the way

Burden to those that bear me
Beast to my undeserving Beauty
Betrayer and bandit
Bearing fruits of bitter trees

Lunacy or love?
Lore of lost truths learned?
Lit once by the light now languishing
Lost and found and lost; the old books burned.

Prologue or present?
Perhaps future yet to pass
Parts of the puzzle; pieces scattered
Put together, but rarely held fast.

What made me? What makes us all?
Will I ever find the way to go?
Who decides my worth to the world?
Was I ever worth the price of the show?
