Another CLUELESS BANK CEO!
Edited on Thu Feb-12-09 08:21 AM by Serial Mom
So, if I got money for my tax refund, I won't have to pay bills with it, I can say it is different money and go spend it for a vacation or award for me AND then I can go and get money from the government to pay my bills and decide if I have a profit in the years to come, pay it back?

Just three months ago, the state's second-largest bank joined scores of other troubled lenders when it cashed a check for $525 million from the federal government to prop up its bottom line.

Today, Associated is preparing to drop tens of thousands of dollars - and maybe more - to send about 100 employees to a posh Puerto Rican resort as a reward for a job well done.

Making the trip will be everyone from backroom workers to the CEO, Paul Beideman.

,snip>

One thing Beideman definitely won't be doing, he suggested, is worrying about public reaction to the trip.

"Should we ask you or anybody else each individual thing we do to see if it's politically correct?" he asked. What he cares about, he said, is the opinion of his employees, and they overwhelmingly support the Puerto Rico trip: "I think it's coming across very positively."

1. A job well done??
Yeah...I guess if running their bank into the ground and getting millions of dollars from tax payers (free money!) is doing a good job...then, they deserve it! :sarcasm:

6. I stand corrected, your statement is true, but
they are clueless about the public's reaction AND if you read the article, they are clueless to how those employees who were the whistleblowers to the newspaper's watchdog group felt!

5. I work in a state/county govt. environment ...
and we have to account for nearly every $ spent ...

and our agencies have to account for every $ we send them ...

So, why are the businesses whining about being scrutinized?

8. Clueless? Not.
They got our money. They won. Now they're going to gloat. Again.

So, no-one has grabbed pitchforks and lit torches yet?????.

Simply amazing.

With all the bullshit being spewed from corporate CEO offices, I'm equally surprised that dumptrucks full of bullshit haven't been unloaded on pristine, manicured CEO front lawns. Not that I'm advocatin', just thinkin' out loud ovah heah
