Has the time come to nationalize the banking system?

I would like to see more discussion on this issue as well as some form of commission to stablize energy costs.

2. I don't understand why there isn't far more discussion about this.

The banking system and energy are two of the most important aspects of our economy that have affected the working class. Are our representative too timid to address the root causes of our present financial disaster?

5. Yes !!! Timid and owned. Been that way for a long time now.

( a few exceptinos...Kuncinich, Maxine Waters, cynthia McKinney ...)

A culture of rot, corruption, blackmail, has paralyzed Congress, in varying degrees, for generations.
It actually has been worse at times in the past, but the last 12 years does set a record for continuity.
Somewhere on the net there is a list of the Republican Congress critters who have been indicted..
the length of the list is breath taking.
Let us not even talk about the state legislatures.

online, charging minimal fees, and leaving the larger banks to match or lose. I was one of those who did a equity loan in 2004, and couldn't believe the amount of fees that the banks were charging. Names of the fees were made up, no rhyme or reason. No challenges from any state AGs, because it's legal. The banks are very sure they own Congress and won't have any opposition. (just like Big Oil)

4. They seem to have a blank check from the US Treasury.

I think we'd come out ahead if we nationalized both banks and energy.
