Weapons programs re-branded as jobs programs

As unemployment in the US rises, old War on Terror appeals to national security are taking a backseat to economic justifications. The US military industry has adjusted to this new reality by crafting its requests for government funding on the basis of its capacity to provide employment. This despite evidence that military spending is one of the least effective means of job creation.

President Obama should immediately cancel the Strategic Missile Defense program.

President Obama should immediately cancel the Reliable Replacement Warhead

President Obama should immediately cancel the DDG-1000 Zumwalt Destroyer program

President Obama should immediately halt the F-22 Stealth Fighter program and mothball all existing units

The money from these programs should be redirected to research and development of clean, renewable energy sources. This money would be much better spent on providing for our future rather than killing those who oppose us.

2. Is there an article or paper to back this up?

I can't watch videos so I have no idea what this is about, and to be quite honest about it the title alone (the term 'weapons program' has a somewhat specific connotation) points at a bogus article, which is to say one that is generally devoid of fact - there is a lot of that going around for causes both good and bad.
