7. Horsey is the cartoonist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer
and is also an occasional columnist. Unfortunately, the P-I was recently put up for sale and is very likely to go tits up before long. I hope he lands on his feet at another publication--I'd miss his work.

9. Steam roller?
I know this is semantics, but most of today's rollers are powered by diesel engines, which in turn drives a hydraulic pump that creates power on demand, through a system which is known as a hydro-static drive system. But maybe horsey is more astute and the inference is that Repuglicans are way stupid and still think that rollers are powered by steam and that they did not cause the current world problems the U.S. Faces. And they might be still living in the past, around 1910 I think, not sure when the last steam roller was built.
