Burris Bound for Ethics Committee Grilling
That didn't take long.

Roland Burris, the newest senator from Illinois, might be setting a new record for the quickest dash from the swearing-in ceremony to the Senate Ethics Committee.

A statement just out from Jim Manley, spokesman for Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) effectively clears the way for the committee to look into the situation. "Senator Reid supports Senator Burris's decision to cooperate with all appropriate officials who may review this matter, including state agencies and the Senate Ethics Committee," said Manley in a statement. Burris has invited the ethics investigation.

"I have made an effort to be as transparent as I can, and I'm willing to take a further step as I have nothing to hide," Burris said in a prepared statement to reporters in Peoria.

I wonder if he will have new details. He needs to learn "The Law of Holes."

3. Even if he's indicted, the senate will not be able to "let him go" or push him out
because they did not do it to Ted Stevens..even after he was CONVICTED..

They are really just wasting time..

Burriss will stay on and will lose in '10..

4. Leave him alone
don't you guys see what is going on ? Burris is just like any other Politician. He did nothing Illegal nothing. He has had like a 30 year positive career in Illinois. This is all politics and nothing more if he remains seated and Al gets seated they can't bare it. I don't even care anymore if you think he's guilty this is war. War on the people when are the weak going to fight.
