If you don't think $13 per week is worth anything or don't need the additional $
from the Obama tax cut my suggestion is to donate it to a food pantry. Believe me $13 per week/ $52 per month will go far there as the need increases.

3. Actually it would pay my cable bill too or one week of groceries for me
But I hear a lot of people complaining about the lousy 13 bucks per week and how it won't do anything, I was just throwing this out as a suggstion. It would be a big boom for food pantries if a lot of people did that.

5. well overall, yes, it's not much - BUT
I think the message that we will see something so quickly is very important - and you are correct - people who diss it can always donate their portion to food banks. I surely do wish Obama would cancel those bush tax cuts for the rich so quickly too.

2. Excellent Idea, actually ...
... although if I AM working by then, I'll need that money and anything else I can scratch together to start catching up on bills.

:hi:

4. $13 a week would mean something to me except I don't have a job to get it.
Currently my donation to the food pantry is not using it even though I qualify.

6. EDS/HP stole my stimulus.
I was looking forward to that little bit extra. It would have been a big help.I work for EDS, now owned by HP. We got an email the other day that we are getting a 2.5% pay cut. This will amount to ... you guessed it...about 12-15 dollars a week. HP found a way to get some stimulus cash by stealing ours.

9. that's really not the point of opposition to that figure
. . . the point is that others get millions (of our tax contributions) and we get the shaft.

$13 a week is a joke. I need that and more. Plenty of money going out of my check to the government, though.

10. $13 a week is a sick joke to most working families.
Reverse the Bush tax cuts and raise the Capital Gains tax..

11. Not only is $13 a joke to most individuals, it's also money that,
if used collectively, could have really made a difference in all our lives. Now it will be frittered away, mostly on bills or junk.

12. If your a public service worker and get only a 3% raise that extra per cent helps.
most union contracts only offer 3% in small town & cities. For a cop, fireman, garbage man or nurse starting out that helps.

13. food pantries will not be necessary now that everyone is getting that extra $13 in their checks!
I'll probably give mine to an animal shelter. I love kitties and puppies.
