Do the infotainers on NPR ever call the President
President Obama? I listened for a short time in the car and all I heard was Mr. Obama. Is this new or was GWB Mr. Bush as well?

1. As with the newspapers, the first reference is to "President Obama/Bush/Truman..." and all...
subsequent references are to "Mr. Obama/Bush/Roosevelt," etc.

That's been the tradition for a long time.

3. I think 'president' is just too big a word. But I've gone back and seen...
the press did that as far back as FDR. I haven't read contemporary press further back.
