Excellent review of Oscars
Roger Ebert has written an excellent review of last night's Oscar ceremony, with many deserving kudos to Slumdog Millionaire.

Read it here: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090222/OSCARS/902229997

There is also a very nice photograph of the six younger actors who played Salim, Latika and Jamal as the younger versions of child and tween.

Most reviews of the night are either hating it or loving it, with hardly many in the middle. Personally, I enjoyed it, though the length of it tired me out altogether.

1. I thought Huge Ackman did pretty good
But they continue to waste a lot of time with the endless clips of previous Oscar shows. And the painfully long dissertations on the nominees for best actor/actress. I still miss Johnny Carson. And I thought Mickey Rourke should have won, despite his politics. His semi-positive recent comments about Bush probably cost him the Oscar.

2. I enjoyed Hugh Jackman
Could he host next time shirtless?

In the meantime, I actually enjoyed the comments from those who'd previously won the acting awards to those who were nominated. It was a very sweet moment, and broke things up as far as the show was concerned.

Congratulations to Sean Penn, who puts his career, his money and his time where his politics are.
