Remember when Bin Laden said he would bankrupt us?
I think Bush wanted to beat him to it. What a one-two punch those two were.
Well, we have met the enemy and he is us!

1. Though it started before both those clowns reared their ugly heads...
I think if Bush allowed the 2001 recession to take its course (rather than engineer the housing/mortgage boom to hide it), this could of been a soft landing with a moderate recovery.

12. He NEEDED the housing bubble/ low interest/ EZ-Credit & two wars
to MASK the horrendous unemployment/underemployment that was starting to rear its head

Every guardsman/reservist who left for war, left a job that some other person could fill, and that would llift them from the unemployment rolls..

2. so far both wars are costing 3 trillion dollars estimated
and that doesnt include hidden costs..and some rich friends of corporate whore politicians made out like bandits and still are, as long as these wars continue..and whomever hit us on 9/11, Bin Laden or anyone else, knew that we would react like braggarts and bullies, rather then use self reflection about America's role in the world. Our knee jerk reaction cost us our country. And we are bankrupt, and we did it to ourselves.

17. That's 8 billion less than the CBO estimates for the stimulus.
It should also be noted the CBO also said the stimulus would actually hurt the economy in the long run. Obviously money spent at home is better than money spent on war though. Hopefully Obama's fiscal responsibility plan will mitigate both, reinstating and making permanent the line item veto would go a long way. Though it could be misused by future repub administrations. Thanks for the link.

4. Bin Laden did not Bankrupt America, Republicans did.
No one can tell me a bunch of ragged old men living in caves on the other side of the world really has any influence upon America that we don't give them. They are not even as well equiped or trained as regular street hoods in almost any US city.

6. Thats sort of a responsibility cop out a bit...
Because all those Mc Mansion dwelling, republican voting constitutes who were loving the big life and mass consumerism had some small share, eh? America (its system, philosophy, and culture) bankrupted itself. We have an insatiable desire for an unsustainable pattern of living.

20. I think history proves you wrong
Virtually every Republican Administration since Hoover has put the US into Recession. Recession only happened in one Democratic Administration. History shows how the economy fairs under Republicans. The last time the Republicans had a Majority in both houses and the Administration we had the Great Depression. This time may even be worse. This is a Republican created problem and it will be a Democratic created recovery.

22. Im not talking about partisan politics
Im talking about culture and philosophy of the American people. There is a price to pay for unrealistic, unsustainable living. We are now paying it.

5. I think perhaps they worked together ...
:tinfoilhat: OBL let Bush use him as the 'bogey man' to bum-rush the Clinton/Gore Surplus for "the war on terra", Bush/Cheney et al got filthy rich on the wargames and while the rest of the country was distracted by Duct Tape and Plastic Sheeting, Enron and other wanna-be's set their wheels in motion.

Remember after 9/11, Bush told everyone to 'shop'!! :wtf:

9. Obama's papa is a SUPER RICH
dude....his company constructs anything and everything. He is comparable to Mr. Bechtel of this nation. In fact they worked together constructing the city of Riyadh.

W needed Osama and Osama needed W. The Saudis worry about their people uprising....their people do very little...the hard work is done by imported slaves from Pakistan, Phillipines, etc. But the oil is running out......

29. Utilizing those Cost Plus
contracts, I'm sure they're making plenty of $$$ for all of the family. But with the World Wide Re/Depression, maybe they've hit a sticky patch...too bad for the rich!

14. That's how we won the Cold War. Osama just turned the tables and beat us at our own game.
Pretty much struck first and let us do the rest. Worked like a charm.

28. But once again.......
The neo-cons were foolish enough to want to relive WWII.
They thought that rolling into Baghdad was like the liberation of Paris Ca.1944.
The Bush people were barely 'dry behind the ears'(trust me I knew a few) and they thought they had it all figured out.
Well............here we are !
What a mess.

Regards
