Bwaah-hah..Chimp and Pickles' personal friends "crestfallen"..oh to be a fly on the wall

Translated: don't look for local repukes asking chimp to join them at any pre-election events in 2010 or 2012. He is/will be avoided like the plague no matter how they treat the Bushes face to face.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/022309dnmetbushhere.42ad768.html

Bush left Washington as one of the most unpopular presidents in U.S. history, according to opinion polls. Critics say that's why he has yet to get a publishing deal on the memoir he's said to already have begun writing. And, after the shoe-throwing incident in Iraq, he has not yet made plans to travel any farther than Canada

(snip)
True, "Welcome Home, George and Laura" yard signs dotted Preston Hollow for weeks before the Bushes moved in. And Texas remains a solidly red state.

But Dallas County voters, who gave Bush a narrow victory in '04, swung to the Democratic Party last November. In Dallas County, Barack Obama got 57 percent of the vote to John McCain's 42 percent. And some Republicans privately say they're disappointed.

"I do talks around the Park Cities, and one recently was a very upscale group, among which were personal friends" of the Bushes, said SMU political science professor Cal Jillson. "I guess the best word was crestfallen. I do think the Bushes will be well-received, very comfortable within their circle, but they cannot but know that the broader interpretation of the Bush presidency is very negative."

16. Narcissists don't commit suicide
they think too much of themselves to do that. Murder? In a heartbeat. As we all know.

28. It's not that "they think too much of themselves" but that they have no sense of their selves ...
Edited on Tue Feb-24-09 05:14 PM by TahitiNut
... other than through the reaction of others. They invest their entire lives in 'sowing and harvesting' that reaction, surrounding themselves with audiences, not supporters. It's all about feeding an insatiable appetite for attention -- feeding on all forms of reaction.

Suicide is, it's true, not the typical act of a pathological narcissist. That's because they are accustomed to focusing all their efforts in just getting confirmation they exist in the first place. Psychologically, suicide for a narcissist would be becoming a hermit -- or solitary confinement. (I vote for the latter.)

Dubya has gone from the biggest stage with the most spotlights in the world to a little soapbox ... cold turkey. If he's not medicated to the gills, I'll eat my Birkenstock. The burden on his immediate family and all those around him has to be enormous. They're enablers and his only narcissistic supply. I've predicted he'll melt down. I maintain that opinion.

(Caveat: IANAP.)

24. We saw that this afternoon .... we were chatting it up and laughing and those around us ......
.... picked up on it with us. Everybody had a good laugh.

One of them (I don't know if it was that one) also had a thing that said he thought Obama was "out to get me".

What a hoot.

4. It really irritates me that the local news gives almost daily updates
on what George and Laura are up to. Just when I'd started to relax a bit and not keep a constant finger on the remote while watching the news. I've come very close to injuring myself the last couple days lunging to find the remote.

14. Not that chimpass reads but I picture his handlers cutting out sections of newspapers
so he doesn't get a glimpse of articles like this..wouldn't want to ruin his "beautiful mind" and all...and telling him "uh, Mrs Bush was cutting COUPONS out of the paper, that's all"

5. Considering that the Chimp and all his cohorts should be rotting in a prison, they should just
consider themselves lucky that they do not have to visit them in jail.

I cannot honestly believe that those who really him, expected any more than they got from that narcissistic, selfish, cruel, vindictive asshole. Oh yes...and he is really a dumb f**K too.

7. Well, who could have predicted . . . ?
I do like the characterization of Texas as a "solidly red state" followed immediately by the fact that even where Bush as has chosen to live, the polls went 57-42 for Obama. How "solidly red" really, is Texas? One would presume that the Bushes wouldn't move into some Democratic enclave, and if McCain got pasted by 15 points by the Black guy, Texas may not be quite as solidly red as Republicans are hoping.

"We'll always have Paraguay."

11. Still solidly red, but it could move blue over the next twenty years.
Minority populations are growing rapidly here. And if Obama can bring this economy around, then his and other Democratics' popularity should soar.

17. Also--and this is crass
All the old people in the redneck rural towns that vote "R" everytime. Democrats are already doing well in the metro areas. The will of the state is being bent by old rednecks in the backwoods of Texas.
Twenty years should take care of that problem, as well.

15. This is why they are saying he is SLOWLY getting out and doing things in public
Cuz once he leaves his cul-de-sac, there is no telling what kind of reception he will encounter in Dallas.
His Saturday morning trip to that hardware store that is in the 'hood...was done on a Saturday morning for a reason. Much less foot and vehicle/bus traffic in that area on the weekend and I imagine it was done pretty early in the morning before anyone was in the store except employees and management were around and less "rif-raf" for him to run into. All the pics I have seen of him there he's surrounded either by his security detail or store employees.
Any of his outings will be very, very orchestrated (time, place, attendees, etc...).

21. Just like when he was squatting in the Oval Office
All of his outings were very, very orchestrated then, too. Financial backers, military personnel who can be ordered to cheer for him, and political allies who hitched their wagons to this white dwarf star all got to be in the audience. Oh, and tokens. Easily photoshopped tokens.

31. Well, naturally the hardware store visit was orchestrated...
Dodging a shoe in Iraq was one thing -- but hardware stores have stuff that could leave a nasty mark if thrown.

I envision him showing up only at things like Nerf Ball conventions from now on.

Lucifer: Ring, ring

God: Hello, God speaking.

Lucifer: Hi ya God. Look I know we're not BFF anymore but please, you gotta take these two clowns. I might have a riot on my hands here if I let them in.

God: Well, I sure don't want them. Even my angles would revolt.

Lucier: Oh, what to do, what to do !!!!!!

God: Say, I could send their souls back to Earth as...tap, tap, tap....plankten!!!

Lucifer: Brilliant !!!
