Edited on Fri Feb-27-09 07:14 PM by Atman
I met him at my office before the 08 election, shooting a campaign commercial. Between takes, he hung out with the art department, not just his peeps. He talked issues with us like a reg'lar guy...a very bright, informed, reg'lar guy. And unlike the Senator who disgraced our state, Courtney votes for his constituency, not for himself.

So, yes, I like my Congressperson.

53. Neil Abercrombie!
I've even been in his office once or twice.

In 2004, our agency had a table at the NAACP MLK dinner (no, it was not held in a phone booth :P ), and Abercrombie was the speaker. Like they say about blues singers, "he chewed up the stage and spit out the splinters"! Since this was early 2004, I kept thinking, "Get this guy on a plane to New Hampshire pronto!"

Then I thought, "Naaaaah. No way we'll ever have a President from Hawai'i..."

I don't always agree with him, but he works his ass off and he's a good man. He really makes an effort to listen to his constituents - ALL of his constituents (which sometimes makes some progressives unhappy).

It's also been kind of fun to watch him grow in the job, since I was at one of his first campaign appearances of his first campaign (2006).

91. Artur Davis here. He's okay.
I don't agree with him on everything. Might not be my rep much longer, as he has expressed his interest in running for governor. Chances are he'll be replaced by another Dem., as this district has been for as long as I can remember (yes, we do have Dems in AL).

I'd better like him since I spent a lot of time and money to help him get to where he is today.

93. Diana DeGette. I love her!
She's just as liberal as Pat Schroeder, her predecessor. She's just not nearly as painful to watch.

I just moved to Waco, so I admit I don't know a whole lot about him but he's a Democrat from Waco! What's not to like?
