... well just use your imagination. Especially if it was a recession that was caused by the previous Dem president.

The entire media would be in a complete uproar until he publicly took it back and apologized. Every time the Stock Market would drop it would be blamed on the Dems and their spokesman.

Our Dem politicians would be forced to be on every channel to publicly throw the guy under the bus. And they would too.

Tell me I am wrong.

2. As I pointed out in another thread today
Barry Goldwater would be considered less than a pure conservative today. He had a great big libertarian streak in him and before his death even spoke against discrimination against gays. He did not like the fundie influence in his party and respected the church/state separation. He was part of the MIC and was certainly considered a hawk. He was a fiscal conservative in every sense of the word and the deficits of the Bush II years would have driven him nuts.

I promise you, as republican and conservative as he was for his time, Barry Goldwater would NEVER have asserted that he wanted his President to fail. No way, no how, not under any circumstance. I suspect that Reagan, as misguided as his vision often turned out to be, would never have wished that either.

So this is what the fundamentalist, neocon, trickle down party has become. Fuck them and fuck them again.
