(and how come wall-streeters don't consider their 'obligations' AT ALL! I guess we're just all SUCKERS being played by a Wall-street violin (on youtube, b/c a REAL violin would cut into their profit margin......and 'we' wouldn't appreciate it anyway)

Wall-street F*ckers!!!! You selfish f*ckin' F*CKERS!

1. I took a loan on mine
to literally put a roof over my head. I am making payments, though. Hopefully, I can keep up.

6. ALL of it. And I mean ALL.
I have a huge tax bill that I'll not be able to pay. A friend of mine is a tax attorney and she is going to help me work out a deal. Assuming I get a job soon. I've got 2 interviews lined up this week so wish me luck.

10. Thanks!
I hope we both get something soon. In my case, because the longer I go without income the lower my credit score gets. And employers check that, ya know. :grr:

9. 401K went
into renovation and addition on our house. I got the $$ from my 401K account when I was laid off from my job 10 years ago, and I sunk it into our house. I'm so glad I did. We have our house which may once again someday be worth the 250 grand it is assessed at. But if my retirement had stayed invested it would be gone now most likely.

11. me too
after saving for all my working life, and seeing my modest 401K plummet by almost 50 percent in the blink of an eye (and this is all i will ever have, as i now own a biz with my partner and have nothing to contribute), I had to start taking out to pay the basics: mortgage, car payment etc. BUT i heard that they may pass a rule to suspend the penalty for withdrawals due to hardship. has anyone heard anything about this? Also I never heard of getting loans on a tax-deferred IRA... at least not from the brokerage... how do you get a bank to accept 401Ks as collateral on a loan???

12. Lost my IRA after 9/11
My mutual fund was heavily invested in airlines and other business (one went from $50/share to 78 cents) so my $80K IRA went to 20K, no job from June (tech bubble burst) to November that year, and had to use that last little bit (minus penalty for early withdrawal) to live on. Only had about $400 in the market this time that grew to $5K and is now worth about $1K, so I'm still ahead. No more IRA for me and I am so glad that what I have managed to save is intact but unfortunately only earning .25% (insert blue streak cursing here) in a CD! I feel like we've been manipulated into "investing" in the market -- more like driven there like a herd of cattle because they haven't been paying decent rates on savings for quite a while -- just so this phase of the great Bushco robbery could be pulled off. And, hell yes, I'm bitter about it.
